"Paul took on the translation work for The Green Guide to Andalucía at the very last moment. He burnt the midnight oil so that I could meet my deadline at the printers. For A1 service, A1 quality, A1 value – I would recommend A1 Language Services every time!"

House of Our Dreams

altWe saw it first last May when we did the Art Walk in Gaucín.  A house to die for.  Owned by one of the foreign artists who have lived in and around this charming white village for a dozen years or more, it had been thrown open, as had another 15 or so artists’ homes, as part of this annual celebration of the art, sculpture and photography being produced locally.

We didn’t know until we arrived at the door of the old house, that it was up for sale.  But once we’d learned that, there was no curbing our inquisitiveness.  The painter’s husband gladly showed us around this latter-day Tardis, for, on entering you had no idea that the accommodation went on for ever.  Four separate and private apartments around a luxurious Andalucían garden with a pool and a view of Gibraltar, the Mediterranean and the Rif mountains of North Africa beyond.  Renovated tastefully in a traditional style, this old Moorish townhouse was utterly stunning.  A perfect location for a classy B & B or self-catering holiday business.
How much?  Blimey!  That’s a lot... but, actually, for what was on offer, no it wasn't at all...
If we’d had the money, la señora would have bought it there and then.  But we didn’t, so all we could do was dream... and move on to the next artist’s studio on the list...
