“Paul did an excellent piece of work in translating my business’s website into German. The service was good value, had a speedy turnaround and at all times Paul’s translation was thoughtful and intelligent, suggesting improvements not only to the German version but also to the original English. Many thanks! I would definitely recommend Paul / A1 Language Services for any translation work.”

Champagne, chips and chatter
Donnerstag, den 15. April 2010 um 00:00 Uhr

altA new social phenomenon was invented this week in our village. Champagne, chips and chatter!

When I announced I was off to Ronda for a night out, she “retaliated” with:

OK, I’ll invite J round for chips then.

And a bottle or two of cava too, I’ll be bound, said I.  And a fair bit of nattering, too!

And then it suddenly came to me in a flash of alliterative inspiration - champagne, chips and chatter.

When I got back the next day, there was the evidence: two empty cava bottles, and a bag of potato peelings.  They had enjoyed a great natter, too, by all accounts, as they over-indulged on things that are bad for you.

So, now I know that if I’m not around for any reason, the girls will be getting together for a calorie-fest.  Sounds a bit like midnight feasts in the dorm, doesn't it? (see Angela Brazil, et al).
