All my original documents, plus certified translations, were sent on Monday from Manchester to Germany via Federal Express guaranteed next day delivery. 44 quid and they didn’t arrive the next day as contracted! Where were they? Tracking progress online, they went from Manchester to Paris to Stuttgart and then back to Paris again this morning! Several phone calls to the FedEx didn’t really shed much light, but we heard this afternoon that the documents had indeed been received safely at their destination. At least all the delivery services we’ve used to do with the wedding have been consistent – they’ve all been very poor! That’s Royal Mail, Correos and Federal Express. Unbelievable! On a more pleasant note we went to Ronda this morning to collect the wedding rings and to change my wedding shirt for a smaller size. No problems there. So, all that’s left to do now is pack a very long wedding dress into a standard size suitcase, plus all our other bits, before we fly off to Germany tomorrow for meetings with registrars and pastors and to organise the various components of our two big days – the civil marriage and the church ceremony. © Paul Whitelock a1-solutions-spain.com
