Ryanair plans to beat strike
Sonntag, den 26. September 2010 um 00:00 Uhr

Ryanair will fly to and from Spain on Wednesday of this week, despite the General Strike in Spain scheduled for that day.

The Irish low-cost airline has announced on its website that it plans to fly all of its routes to and from Spain on Wednesday 29 September, but passengers will be restricted to hand luggage only.

Ryanair states: “ [We] have been advised of strike action by the biggest transport unions in Spain on Wednesday 29 September 2010.  Ryanair plans to operate all flights on that day, but, as the action will impact our third party baggage handling services, we will be unable to accept checked baggage on all flights to/from Spain (including Balearic & Canary Islands) on Wednesday 29 September 2010.”

Passengers who have paid for checked baggage who are prepared to travel with hand luggage only will be entitled to a refund of the checked-in bag fee. Alternatively they can opt to change their flight for another one free of charge by going to the company’s website.
