"Thanks for all your help interpreting for me at Ronda hospital. Although some of the consultants do speak excellent English they are obviously much happier conversing in their mother tongue. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to others."

Merry Christmas, Everybody!
Samstag, den 25. Dezember 2010 um 00:00 Uhr

Christmas began early for us here in Germany. Das Christkind, Baby Jesus, came with the presents yesterday afternoon, Christmas Eve, while we were at church.

As we came in out of the driving snow, shed our boots and warm clothing and went upstairs to the living room, das Christkind was just leaving through the French windows and was gone, off to the next house, too late for us to glimpse.

The grandchildren, 4 and 2, displayed the same mixture of wonder and excitement that children show on Christmas morning in the UK, as they tore open their presents and began to play with the wrapping!

Whilst children all over the UK are doing the same this morning, in Spain they’ll have to wait until Reyes, 6th January. Meanwhile, Dutch children opened their presents a month ago on 6th December, St Nicholas’ Day.

Wherever you are, ¡Feliz Navidad! Frohe Weihnachten! Merry Christmas!
