"Paul’s extensive knowledge of Spanish has been an invaluable asset to me recently. When my husband passed away suddenly, Paul made himself available at all times to guide me through the difficult process of Spanish protocol. I could not have wished for a more helpful and sensitive friend during this tragic time.”

Electricity - a sting in the tail
Donnerstag, den 01. Dezember 2011 um 13:00 Uhr

I wrote in October about the problems being caused by electricity companies fitting a limiter to your power supply to prevent you from using more power than you had contracted for - Electricity problems? Read on In my article I described the solution in detail and suggested it would cost around 300 euros. I WAS WRONG!

We've just had our latest electricity bill for the house where we upgraded the power. It was a massive amount more than normal, over 100 euros dearer!

When I went to Endesa to check, I was told that the 100.88€ + IVA was the fee for making the new contract for more power (potencia).

So, Endesa forced a change on me - and everybody else - so that we had to up the power, and they then charge us for the privilege! Amazing!

I couldn't resist commenting that I was astonished that Spain was bankrupt, when the authorities find every possible excuse to take money off us citizens. Every time you change anything official, you have to pay!

Endesa isn't Spanish, she replied with a smirk.

What is it, then? I asked

Italian!

Hah! I said, So why are Italy up the swanny, then!

So, folks, the whole process will in fact cost you around 400+ euros.

I repeat my previous offer: If anyone local needs this doing and feels daunted at the prospect and would like help, give me a shout! Phone (+34) 636 52 75 16 or email Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist gegen Spambots geschützt! JavaScript muss aktiviert werden, damit sie angezeigt werden kann.
