A1 Translations is Paul Whitelock and associates.  Paul is a Joint Honours graduate in Spanish and German with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and a Member of the Institute of Linguists (MIL) qualification.  Early in his career, Paul worked as a technical translator for Daimler-Benz AG in Stuttgart, Germany before becoming a teacher.  He taught Spanish, German and French for 15 years in three secondary schools in the North of England.  He was Head of Languages for nine years and a Senior Teacher for three.  For the last 15 years of his career Paul was a Modern Languages Adviser/Inspector.  He took early retirement in 2005 and moved to live near Ronda, Spain in 2008. 

In order to ensure top quality we only use native speakers.  In addition, all our translations are thoroughly checked and proofed for accuracy and authenticity by a third party.   A1 Translations works with a number of native speaker associates, including Miguel Ruiz Trigueros (Spanish), Marta Amigó (Catalán and Spanish), Sandrine Dos-Santos (French), Marleen Pieper (Dutch), Johannes Bänsch and Rita Koehler (German), Yuliya MacNee (Russian),  Svanhild Aldal (Norwegian), Ahmad Hafeez (Arabic), Liang Huan (Chinese) and John Cottam and Jill Wynne (English).

A1 Translations is part of a network of translators, with offices in  England (Manchester, Warrington) and Spain (Ronda, San Pedro de Alcántara).  Consequently, we have access to a full range of trained, professional translators who can cover most languages.  In other words, if we can’t do it, we know someone who can.
