Client Testimonials

"We enjoyed being in a small, friendly Spanish community with such easy access to the town.  The apartment is very comfortable.  We made good use of the extensive library and the garden and pool – a lovely way to relax after a hard day’s ‘culture’!"

altRead "Sol Searching" by Keidi Keating while I was in England recently.

Based on 20-something Keidi's personal diary of her life on the Costa del Sol since she moved there five or so years ago, it's an easy read.  Billed as "a fun-filled tale of a modern girl's move to the Costa del Sol", it's certainly an entertaining tale, somewhere between "Bridget Jones' Diary" and "Driving Over Lemons".

Telling the story of how Keidi came to take over The Sentinel magazine after its original owner died, how she changed the name to The Sentinella and built it into a bit of a publishing phenomenon, the book was strong on self-publicity, but weak on literary genius.  More than that I was overcome by the feeling that Keidi's life in the Axarquía hasn't really been so fun-filled as the publicity for the book suggests.  Instead she portrays a life of stress, overwork and lack of mates, especially an acceptable boyfriend. I also felt the book ended rather abruptly and left me wanting to know more about what's happening to her now ...

So, it couldn't have been that bad, could it?  Above all, I applaud Keidi for achieving what she has and for telling us all about it, warts and all!  I look forward to the sequel ...
