Client Testimonials

“Paul did an excellent piece of work in translating my business’s website into German. The service was good value, had a speedy turnaround and at all times Paul’s translation was thoughtful and intelligent, suggesting improvements not only to the German version but also to the original English. Many thanks! I would definitely recommend Paul / A1 Language Services for any translation work.”

Real Ale in Andalucía – update PDF
Sunday, 13 February 2011 00:00

There are at least three real ale breweries in Andalucía. My article a while back about the micro-brewery near Cádiz prompted posts about two other micro-breweries in the region.

I wrote last year about the Fábrica de Cerveza Kettal (FCK), located in Los Barrios (Cádiz) in the article Real ale in Spain? – Almost..., in which I suggested it might be the first real ale brewery in Spain.

I was corrected in no uncertain terms by Ian Orpe of the Saxon Brewery in Vélez Rubio, Almería, which supplies various bars in Almería and Murcia with UK-style real ale.  Sorry, Ian, and thanks! The brewery doesn’t seem to have a website but Ian can be contacted at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Tony B wrote to advise of La Fábrica in Sevilla, a brew-pub in the Plaza de las Armas. Again no website but you can read about it here:

I haven’t yet had the chance to visit any of the three personally nor to sample any of the beers, but they’re on my to-do list! Perhaps readers who live in those areas could do a recce and report back?

I also wonder if there are more of these establishments out there.  Do let us know! Cheers!

I found a pleasant outlet for Saxon bitter at Cucador near Albox at the La Vida restaurant/pub/cafe.
The beer was kept fine, not too cold and made a nice change.
On Wednesday they host a small car-boot and there are craft exhibits, tarot cards and beauty treatment. Being a Camra member I went for the beer.

Allioli Weisse Bier will be on sale in the guadiaro Valley

We do not have a web site, but you can see photos etc at www.anglosajon.blog.co.uk
Brewery visits are always welcome, preferably on brew days, including sampling.

There might be an outlet soon near you for real ale but it will cost a bit more than the beers in the footie bar montejaque!
