A new low-cost airline starts up in Spain from Sunday. Iberia Express, a part of the Spanish National Airline, will initially operate four planes with internal flights from Madrid to Palma de Mallorca, Alicante, Málaga and Sevilla with prices as low as 25 euros.

During the course of 2012 they intend to add more planes and more routes, including some international ones, so that by the end of the year they will be operating 13 Airbus A320s from Madrid to a total of 17 destinations, 12 national and five international.

The planned schedule is:

•    From March: Palma de Mallorca, Alicante, Málaga and Sevilla.
•    From May: Vigo, Lanzarote, Granada, Menorca and Ibiza.
•    From June/July: Dublin, Riga, Naples and Mykonos.
•    From June: Santiago de Compostela, Fuerteventura and La Palma.
•    From September: Amsterdam
