Real Ale in Andalucía – update
Domingo 13 de Febrero de 2011 00:00

There are at least three real ale breweries in Andalucía. My article a while back about the micro-brewery near Cádiz prompted posts about two other micro-breweries in the region.

I wrote last year about the Fábrica de Cerveza Kettal (FCK), located in Los Barrios (Cádiz) in the article Real ale in Spain? – Almost..., in which I suggested it might be the first real ale brewery in Spain.

I was corrected in no uncertain terms by Ian Orpe of the Saxon Brewery in Vélez Rubio, Almería, which supplies various bars in Almería and Murcia with UK-style real ale.  Sorry, Ian, and thanks! The brewery doesn’t seem to have a website but Ian can be contacted at Esta dirección electrónica esta protegida contra spambots. Es necesario activar Javascript para visualizarla

Tony B wrote to advise of La Fábrica in Sevilla, a brew-pub in the Plaza de las Armas. Again no website but you can read about it here:

I haven’t yet had the chance to visit any of the three personally nor to sample any of the beers, but they’re on my to-do list! Perhaps readers who live in those areas could do a recce and report back?

I also wonder if there are more of these establishments out there.  Do let us know! Cheers!
