Client Testimonials

„Wir waren Anfang April für 5 Tage in CASARITA und haben uns sehr gut erholt! Wir waren schön wandern und spazieren und haben die Frühlingssonne genossen.  Die Zimmer sind gemütlich und Madita hat in dem Babybett sehr gut geschlafen."

¡Feliz Navidad!
Sábado 24 de Diciembre de 2011 16:00

Merry Christmas, everybody! Have a great time, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing! Frau W and I are spending our first ever Christmas together in Spain. How's that?, you ask. Well, since we’ve known each other, we spent the first two apart, me in England with my folks and she here in Spain. After we married last year we spent Christmas with her family in Germany, so 2011 is our debut here in Spain.

In both Spain and Germany the main Christmas meal is celebrated on Christmas Eve, unlike in the UK, of course, where it’s Christmas Day lunch.

We’re going to get the best of both worlds this year with a delicious Spanish/German meal together at home tonight - roast duck breast in Calvados sauce - and a typical English roast - turkey with all the trimmings - in a local hotel, Hotel Molino del Puente, tomorrow lunchtime.

I got to thinking about what to write ... and I don’t believe I can top last year’s efforts.

So, here’s an article I wrote for the Olive Press last year, all about Christmas in Spain: Fish for Christmas and no gifts?

And here’s a piece on useful Spanish words for Christmas from my Spanish language blog “Spanish Matters”: ¡Feliz Navidad y Próspero Año Nuevo!

Enjoy yourselves!

¡Feliz Navidad!  ¡Bon Nadal!  ¡Bo Nadal!  ¡Eguberri on!
